A Study in Contrasts The High Desert of Oregon is often an area left under explored. It was the last region to cross before many settlers arrived in the Willamette Valley after completing the Oregon Trail. Since it is also much more arid than many other regions in the state even today it is lightly populated, and while other places have had to preserve history in museums, here it can still be stumbled upon. It remains a harsh, yet inspiring landscape. The dramatic vistas that can be experienced while traveling here are a veneer across the rocks and brush that hide hot springs, antelope, petroglyphs, foxes, owls, and the more intricate and fragile beauty of this region. Small, weather aged towns dot the landscape and the only lines that crisscross the ground are the arid muddy cracks of dry lakebeds. with questions and for additional information on how we can help you capture this region in photographs.
